Providing email access for everyone in my office
Each user on a Nitix-powered
server automatically receives an email account that
can be accessed using normal, standards-compliant protocols:
-
Nitix's SMTP server
allows you to send outgoing mail, and allows users
elsewhere on the Internet to send mail to Nitix-powered
server users. Nitix's SMTP server has built-in spam
relay protection.
-
The POP-3 and
IMAP servers allow users to read their mail using
their favorite mail client programs, like Netscape,
Eudora, or Microsoft Outlook.
-
The LDAP shared
address book server lets everyone on your local
network send email to other local users using their
names, without having to remember everyone's email
address.
-
Users can read their email from anywhere on
the Internet using a standard web browser and Nitix
WebMail.
Each user account
also has options to help with special configurations:
-
Nitix can gather
email from another POP server elsewhere on the Internet,
and save it into the user's account. This allows
each user to have a single, central email account
on a Nitix-powered server. Or, a user's Nitix-powered
server email can be automatically forwarded to another
email address instead.
-
A user can request
that all messages to the user's account receive
an automatic reply, such as if the user is on vacation.
